Using the Birthlight method, these classes involve specially adapted yoga stretches, designed to create extra space in your abdomen for your growing child, as well as for strengthening your body in preparation for labour. The movements stimulate all systems of the body, to keep you and your baby in good health. Breathing techniques increase your breath depth to be sure of enough oxygen for you and your baby and to enable you to harness the relaxing and pain relieving effect of controlled breathing. The relaxation methods release tension and give you time to yourself to develop a heightened inner strength, important for a calm and intuitive birth experience. The Yoga lasts for 1 hour. Afterwards there is half an hour for tea and a chance to get to know the other pregnant women in the class. The classes are suitable to begin at any point between your fifteenth week of pregnancy and the day you give birth.

Due to very low numbers recently we have decided to open up the Tuesday Morning Post Natal class to everyone so this will now be a Gentle Yoga class with a creche with the opportunity to bring small babies into the class. Please let us know if you would prefer a Post natal only class and if we have enough interest we will look at putting one back on.
Gentle yoga classes, with your baby at your side, involving one hour of specially adapted yoga, including a relaxation session, followed by half an hour of tea and time to get to know other mums. The yoga is designed to help you begin to regain fitness, strengthen your pelvic floor muscles, and realign your spine. Also to help you to stay calm and focused for your motherhood. The classes will be informal and mother’s can feel comfortable feeding or comforting their babies at any point during the sessions.
