Yoga for Pregnancy, Birth & Beyond
Yoga for Pregnancy
Using the Birthlight method, these classes involve specially adapted yoga stretches, designed to create extra space in your
abdomen for your growing child, as well as for strengthening your body in preparation for labour. The movements stimulate
all systems of the body, to keep you and your baby in good health. Breathing techniques increase your breath depth to be
sure of enough oxygen for you and your baby and to enable you to harness the relaxing and pain relieving effect of
controlled breathing. The relaxation methods release tension and give you time to yourself to develop a heightened inner
strength, important for a calm and intuitive birth experience. The Yoga lasts for 1 hour. Afterwards there is half an hour
for tea and a chance to get to know the other pregnant women in the class. The classes are suitable to begin at any point
between your fifteenth week of pregnancy and the day you give birth.
